An early season check of our program would seem to be just what you want, well thats what we got playing Brentsville in our second match. Well coached, solid in every position, and bring it every time they step on the pitch. Something we all try to do and for our young squad this would be the night to step up, hand them a match or realize we have some serious work to do in order to compete at the top of our district. We'll it was all that, in a hard fought match with play being equal for the most part, yet Brentsville having the edge on possession it came down to either a player making a great play or a team making a mistake. Unlucky for us it was a combination of both, at the 66th minute of the match we broke down mentally on defense and they took advantage of it, allowing Ashley Grant (#10) to step up and make the play that would determine the match. On the miscommunication she headed the ball into our goal and provided Brentsville all they would need, handing us our first loss as a program 0 -1. If you were to ask our girls about the match I am sure their response would be, "yes we got beat, but tonight we proved we can compete in this district". Player of the Match was Hannah Carr, her pose, position, and aggressiveness forced their players to miscue on shots and shutdown other opportunities. Great match, solid effort all around girls.
