Tryout Info for Monday, 4/12/21

Conditioning this week:

·         Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (enjoy your Friday) – 3 to 4:15 on our normal practice field.  For those that are unsure, our practice field is the first field on the right when turning onto Academic Avenue.  Parents may pick up players from the bus loop.

Tryouts next week:

Ø  Tryout dates will take place 4/12 – 4/14.  Any player that is still finishing with a fall sport will receive three (3) days of tryouts once their season has concluded.  I encourage any player involved in Cross Country, Golf, or Football to take 3-5 days of rest before reporting for soccer tryouts.  Please contact me directly if you fall into this category.

Ø  Players should have

o   Their own water bottle

o   Cleats

o   Running shoes

o   Shin guards (no shin guards, no tryout)

o   Dark and white shirt

Ø  If you have not had a physical, be sure to get that done before the start of tryouts

o   If you played a fall or winter sport, then you are all set.  A physical form will already be on file.

Ø  Impact Testing – this will AFTER tryouts have concluded

Ø  Student Athlete Acknowledgement Form – Each player needs to fill this out by the first day of tryouts.  This only needs to be done ONCE.  (if you are unsure if you have already done this, you can check with our Head Athletic Trainer to confirm,

Ø  Soccer Rules Acknowledgement – Please read these over.  It will help alleviate any confusion that would come up during the season.  Each player must submit this before tryouts. 

Ø  Student Athlete Self-Health Assessment Form – This form will need to be completed before the start of conditioning and tryouts EACH day.  I will have a laminated sheet with a QR code that the players can scan with their phone to be able to complete it each time we have conditioning/tryouts/practice.

For your planning purposes, tryouts / practice will run 3 to 5:30 each day except Wednesday.  Wednesday’s tryout will run 2 to 4:45.  During the season, practices will run 3 – 4:45 with Wednesday practices taking place 2 – 3:45.  Hopefully, this gives some of you time to plan transportation scenarios for those asynchronous Wednesdays.
